Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

January 21, 2013

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day! Back in 1994, the US government designated MLK Day as a national day of service. I can’t think of a better way to honor the memory of Dr. King than to serve your community and to make things better for someone else. If you have the day off, why not look for ways to help out today! To find out more about the MLK National Day of Service, check out MLKDay.gov. If you’re interested in volunteering today, it’s not too late to register with one of many local projects that are going on! There is something for everyone–from donating clothing to a shelter to setting up chairs for MLK Day celebrations.  Just enter your zip code to find opportunities near you.

Have a wonderful day!
