3 Quick and Easy Outdoor DIY Projects

May 15, 2013

I love a project that can be completed quickly, and without a bunch of expensive supplies that I’ll never use again. I just don’t have the amount of time that I used to for long, drawn out projects that require multiple trips to hardware and craft stores–you know, now that I’ve got a two year old asking me 20 questions every minute.  It tends to slow me down.

These three projects are perfect for me, because they all take less than 1 hour and are super inexpensive.  They make great week night projects, so why not give one a try this week?

This cute outdoor bench is made with 12 cinder blocks and 4 4×10 pieces of lumber.  Just pile everything up and thread your lumber through the holes in the blocks and have a seat! Get the full tutorial on Kayla’s Basement.

Get in on the color blocking trend with these diy planters.  Just spray paint plastic planters your desired colors–such a cool look for very little money! Get the full tutorial on East Coast Creative.

These glowing orbs are so beautiful! Just pick up an old light fixture at the thrift store, or buy a new glass cover for one at the hardware store, and a box of Christmas lights and you’ve got everything you need to finish this project in about 10 minutes.  The full tutorial is on The Art of Doing Stuff.
