Repurposing a Crib

May 21, 2013

A few months ago, we removed the side of my toddler’s crib, and she has been doing great in her little bed so far! Soon, it will be time to transition her to a real “big kid bed” so the question of what to do with the crib has arisen.  I mean, I could always sell it on Craigslist, but surely there is some other way to use it!

Turns out there are lots of tutorials out there to put a crib to work in a different way.  Here’s what I found:

This little art center is such an easy diy–just cut a board to the mattress dimensions and give it a coat of chalkboard paint.  Find out more on A Little Learning for Two.

I love this bench idea–it would be so cute on a front porch, or in a mudroom.  Get the tutorial on Cassandra Designs.

Can’t get much easier than this–just turn the crib rail on its side and, hey look! A magazine rack! From Salty Pineapple.

Apartment Therapy featured this awesome crib transformation a while back.  So great!

I kind of can’t believe this is really from a crib.  It may be a bit beyond my skill set.  From My Repurposed Life.
