Columbus Bike Sharing Launches This Month

July 30, 2013

Car and bike sharing programs have become fairly common in big cities, and Columbus, Ohio is about to join the trend with CoGo, a new bike sharing program! Racks and stations are being set up all over town, with a plan to make 300 bikes available to Columbus visitors and residents starting this week.  To rent a bike, just go to a station (which you can find with the app), swipe a debit or credit card to unlock a bike, and go! A bike costs $6 a day, provided you dock it every 30 minutes (you’re charged $3 if you go over). Stations are well under 30 minutes apart, so you should be able to make it in time. For members ($75 per year), that half hour is free, so you can enjoy a bike any time to get you from A to B.

Locals, have you seen any stations being set up? How are they looking? You can find CoGo on Facebook here, and there’s a writeup on the Parks and Recreation page here.
