Friday Feature: Movin’ on Up

September 6, 2013

My first home cost exactly $110,210. At the time, I was totally terrified by that amount of money–the thought of paying a mortgage was overwhelming to my fresh-out-of-college self, and even though we ran the numbers and chose a home that was within our means, I still felt freaked out.

Many people in Central Ohio enter the housing market at around $100,000, like I did, but I thought today, I’d feature some excellent second homes, for those folks who are maybe not so freaked out by signing all those papers on closing day. These three homes are perfect for people who are ready to sell their first house and move on up to a dreamier one–maybe in the mid to high $100,000 range 🙂

As always, each of these properties is listed with Century 21 Excellence Realty, based in Reynoldsburg, Ohio and serving all of Central Ohio’s real estate and property management needs.

First of all, look at this back yard. I would be tying up a hammock in those trees about 4 minutes after receiving my keys at closing. And you can’t see it, but there’s a STREAM back there. So idyllic. All this loveliness looks like it’s out in the middle of nowhere, but it’s actually located right in Columbus. With 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, and over 1,300 square feet (not including the finished basement), it’s a great place for a growing family. It’s listed with the C.O.R.E. Team at Century 21 Excellence Realty, so contact them if you’d like more information.

This is a total American Dream kind of house, you know? It’s so friendly and inviting with that great front porch and big windows. The best thing about this property, though, is that it’s a condo! That beautiful landscaping? Someone else will be maintaining it. That great fenced-in lawn? You won’t be mowing it! Awesome. Located in Blacklick, and featuring 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and beautiful cathedral ceilings in the bedroom and living room, it’s a great move for a second time buyer. It’s listed at just $129,900 with Jean Roberts, so give her a call if you’re interested!

This Mount Gilead home is surrounded by 5 acres of gorgeous wooded land. If you are a nature-lover, this is the property for you. With two master suites, it would be perfect for roommates, or even newlyweds who want to have an awesome space for your old friends and new in-laws to stay when they visit. It’s listed at $169,500 with Tracey Hartson & Assoc., so contact them if you’d like more information on this beautiful property.
