Hallelujah, it’s Friday! If your home is for sale, Fridays may be less exciting for you–open houses and showings definitely pick up on the weekends, which means extra cleaning and decluttering for sellers.

I have always heard that if you’re going to have an open house, you should bake cookies so that your house is filled with that comforting aroma. Earlier this year, MSN Real Estate debunked this common myth. Apparently, a smell as complex as baking cookies functions more as a distraction for buyers. Still want to make you home smell attractive to house hunters? Try simpler smells like lemon, basil or pine. Lucky for you, there are dozens of pine tree scented candles around right now, so pick one up and sell that house!
