Get Spooked at these 6 Homes from Scary Movies

October 27, 2014

I am not big on scary movies. I just don’t enjoy terror, I guess. But, tis the season, so I’ll stream one or two spooky films on Netflix–I’m thinking this one, because how scary can a Woody Allen movie really be?

If you’re into horror flicks, you probably remember one or two of the iconic buildings and homes featured in them. The castle from House on Haunted Hill, the hotel from The Shining, and the mansion from Nightmare on Elm Street (pictured above) all bring back the gruesome events that supposedly happened inside. Several of them are actually open to the public, which means you can tour them. Head out west to Mount Hood, Oregon and check out the creepy Overlook Hotel from The Shining, or go across the pond to England to see the mansion from Nightmare on Elm Street, which is now a college campus. Check out more spooky destinations on Wiechert.com and plan your next terrifying trip!
