10 Minute Home Improvements

January 5, 2015

For the past six months, our kitchen light switch has been missing its switch plate. It’s one of those things that has always been on our to do list, but I guess we just stopped noticing it at some point, because it never got fixed. Finally, last weekend, my husband went to Lowe’s and picked up a pretty new switch plate for less than $1, and spent about four minutes screwing it into place. I can’t believe how happy this little improvement has made me. On Sunday, I actually caught myself stroking the new switch plate after I turned on the light, that is how much I love it.

All of this is to say, it’s amazing what we let slide in our homes every day, and whether you’re planning to sell your house or you’re just, you know, living there all the time every day, it is so worth it to make these tiny, five or ten minute changes. I’m telling you, it might not change your life, but it is unbelievably gratifying.

Check out this infographic from LifeHackers all about these little fixes.
