F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald’s Long Island Home
May 22, 2015
Wealthy literature lovers, rejoice! F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald’s Long Island home has hit the market for $3,888,888. The couple moved here at the height of prohibition, and at $300 a month (about $4,000 these days), it was actually meant to be a money-saver for them, after their extended stay in a Manhattan hotel suite. F. Scot Fitzgerald began writing The Great Gatsby in the office above the garage in this Mediterranean beauty.
It’s been updated since the roaring ’20s with a bright, open kitchen and marble bathrooms, but I’d say a significant part of that price tag is its fun and interesting provenance. Check out more info on Curbed.
