5 Gorgeous Prefab Houses You Can Order Today

June 1, 2015

Buying a home from a mail order catalog is not a new thing; Sears Catalog homes have been around since the early 20th century. Still, ordering your home seems like a weird way to do things. Prefab houses have come a long way, though, and some very talented architects have put their stamp on some of the designs. Here are 5 prefab homes that you can order today. All you need is a piece of land to put it on and some building permits!

Method Homes is famous for their modern prefabs, mostly made from rectangular units. This model is the Martis Camp, and with its soaring ceilings and huge windows, it allows the owners to enjoy the wooded lot they selected.

The Beach House from Resolution: 4 Architecture is such a chill place to live. I love that big balcony, that really lets you enjoy the view.

The Breakers Model from Sage Modern Designs is so interesting, and with all those natural materials that finish the exterior, it fits right in with the wooded lot.

A lot of prefab homes are flat-topped designs, that work really well for rooftop decks, but can also make them look a bit stark. EvoDomus has a pretty model called River that has a more traditional shape. I love it.

This striking home was designed by a photographer (in collaboration with an architect, of course). You can get it a BusyBoo.
